Are women the dominant gender?!

No No, its not going to be a whole blog on the fact that Britney Spears finally got some common sense and dumped her sleeze bag husband.... lol so please give me a chance to read on with my ramblings.... :)

The conventional idea was that the man is the breadwinner. Man brings home the food and money and women are the family makers who stay home to look after the house, care for the children and prepare the dinner for when the man gets home. However, women haven't simply accepted this concept and in recent centuries have found to change this view. And for the most point have been successful. However, this has never really changed so much in Hollywood. Althought the biggest stars of the screen are of both sexes with icons including (from past and present) Audrey Hepburn, Clark Gable, Bruce Willis and Julia Roberts to name a few, the highest paid celbrities have always been men.

According to Oh no they didn't LIVE JOURNAL, the highest paid movie star is Mel Gibson with actors like Will Ferrell and Johnny Depp close behind. However, something to note is that the women are on their way up. Reese Witherspoon in now noted to be the highest paid actress and has the talent and ability to commendeer up to $30 million per movie (as she recieved for her film 'The Reckoning'). Previously, Julia Roberts was the highest paid female actress.

Women are doing better for themselves in Tinseltown not just in their business whether it be in movies, music or fashion. It seems that America is all about change right now, and I'm not just talking about the Dem's taking back the house! The women are taking back "the house" as it were and are dropping their good-for-nothing husbands like hot potatos. Prime examples include Reese and Ryan, Britney and "K-Fed", Whitney and Bobby and Hillary and Chad.

All i have to say is GOOD ON THEM... :)
